How did an abandoned railway become the centerpiece of a plan to create Queens’ own version of the High Line? Get ready to lace up your walking shoes for an urban hike through the woodlands of one of Queens’ largest parks before tracing the path of a future greenway taking shape along a train line unused for more than half a century.
Join us for the QueensWay 5K and be part of the movement to bring this vision to life. Stick around after the run for a lively finish line festival featuring local community partners, music, food, and more!
Join the APA-NY Metro Chapter Transportation Committee for a tour of the QueensWay site! The tour will provide an opportunity to explore key planning objectives like transportation and connectivity.
Join Trust for Public Land, Friends of the QueensWay and NYC Parks for a clean-up of the QueensWay in Forest Park! Walk the length of the abandoned LIRR tracks as they run through Forest Park, removing debris and improving the park for all its users.
